Author of Butterfield 8, Ten North Frederick, From the Terrace and other best-selling novels often made into films.
Letter Signed, 1 page 4to, May 6, 1960 to the Linebrook Corp., correcting a mistake in his Butterfield 8 contract. “You have brought to the attention of the undersigned a typing omission on page 5 at the end of paragraph 6 appearing on said page of the agreement which the undersigned has entered into with you dated March 2, 1959 dealing with ÔButterfield 8’…This letter is given to you as well as…Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer…”
The film version of Butterfield 8, made under the contract with MGM, starred Elizabeth Taylor as a high-class call girl hoping to go straight, a role for which she won her first Oscar. Autographs of O’Hara are scarce, and it is surprising to find one concerning his greatest work.
