SOLD Theodore Roosevelt Signed Naval Appointment

Document Signed as president, large folio on vellum, with an engraved eagle at the top and naval scene and flags below, Washington, January 14, 1907, appointing John R. Hornberger “assistant paymaster in the Navy with the rank of lieutenant junior grade.” It is countersigned by V.H. Metcalf as Secretary of the Navy and its blue Navy Department seal is still present.
