Beautiful, Oversize Harris and Ewing Photograph of Woodrow Wilson as President, Inscribed to Admiral Hugh Rodman, World War I Commander and Hero of the Battle of Manila Bay in 1898

During the Spanish–American War, Hugh Rodman was commended for his outstanding conduct in the Battle of Manila Bay. Promoted to Admiral, Rodman commanded a division in operations in the North Sea. For this service, he was invested as a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath by King George V and was also awarded the Navy Distinguished Service Medal. Returning to the United States after the Armistice, he served with the Atlantic Fleet until July 1919 when he became Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet.

This is a gorgeous oversize 11 by 14 inch photograph of Wilson by the noted Harris and Ewing photographic studio, inscribed and signed, “To Admiral Hugh Rodman from his friend, Woodrow Wilson.”
