Beautiful Signed Photograph of Theodore Roosevelt as President, Inscribed to His White House Pharmacist
Thomas Newkirk Phillips was a family friend of the Roosevelts. During Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency, he was detached from the Naval Hospital to serve as White House pharmacist. He later went on to work for the Red Cross at its national headquarters in Washington.

A 4 by 6 inch image matted to a 7 1/2 by 9 1/4 presentation, inscribed and signed by TR, “To T.N. Phillips, Esq. with the regards of Theodore Roosevelt.” The matting and frame are original and according to a seal on the verso were crafted by Samuel J. Venable Fine Arts, 604 Ninth St. N.W., Washington D.C.
