President Barack Obama: The U.S. Has the Finest Military in the World

Writing to a serviceman Deployed to Afghanistan, he says, “You embody the values that made this country great, and I am proud to know that young men like you make up the finest military in the world.”

Army man Timothy Hager was deployed to Afghanistan even though he’d previously broken the joints in his legs during a training mission. He wrote President Barack Obama an approving letter, and in the letter told him of this.

Obama found it an inspiration and replied. Autograph letter signed, as President, on his White House note card, no date, to Hager. “Thanks for your letter, and thanks for your service to your country. You embody the values that made this country great, and I am proud to know that young men like you make up the finest military in the world. Tell the guys in your unit I’m proud of them too!” This letter was obtained from the Hager family, and has never before been offered for sale.

A moving statement about the spirit of sacrifice, the greatness that results from it, and the unequaled quality of the American military.
