Benjamin Harrison Autograph Letter Signed as President to his Secretary of the Interior

Autograph Letter Signed as President on an oversize card imprinted “Executive Mansion, Washington,” May 4, 1889 to Secretary Noble. “Dear Genl. I have given that card to Genl. Thos. J. Morgan & will be glad if you will give him a few moments, as he calls at my suggestion.” A college friend of Harrison, John W. Noble commanded an Iowa brigade in the Civil War and was brevetted Brigadier General. He was Harrison’s only Secretary of the Interior. Thomas J. Morgan was Commissioner of Indian Affairs under Harrison, and worked with Noble on a program to educate Indians.
