An Original Pen Belonging to Benjamin Harrison, Acquired From His Descendants

In a letter circa late 1890s, former President Benjamin Harrison wrote to the head of the Caw’s Ink and Pen Company that he had received his “Dashaway” pen.  “The second Dashaway pen received and just suits me,” the letter read.  This endorsement was used extensively in advertisements for the pen, which boasted being the only pen endorsed by two Presidents, the other being Grover Cleveland.

We offer Harrison’s own personal “Dashaway” pen, being one of two received and used by him, in its original box, bearing his name on the interior of the box. We acquired this pen directly from the descendants of Benjamin Harrison, who had retained it for over a century.
