Sold – Signed Photograph of the Colorful Jimmy Walker, Jazz Age Mayor of New York

An oversize Pach Brothers photograph.

Mayor of New York known for his dapper lifestyle, the very symbol of the Roaring Twenties in America’s Metropolis.

An 11 by 14 inch black and white Pach Brothers photograph showing him at half length, holding hands with his wife, matted to 13 by 18 inches, and inscribed and signed by him on the lower mount “To Warner Melvin who brought us safely through more than one Ôrough sea,’ Sincerely, Jim and Betty Walker.” A. Warner Melvin was Deputy of the 2nd Masonic District of New York when Walker was mayor; one wonders about their connection. A striking display piece, with an obviously interesting story behind it.
