William Lord of Lyme, Conn., studied medicine and received a degree from Yale College in 1784. He practiced in his chosen field for 53 years, and lived until 1852, having seen every presidency from Washington to Fillmore.

Document signed by eleven Yale trustees: Ezra Stiles, legendary 18th century president of Yale and author of the charter founding Brown University. He was also a scientist and friend of Benjamin Franklin; Rev. Elizur Goodrich, Yale graduate of 1752 and a noted linguist and mathematician; Rev. Moses Mather, Yale graduate of 1739 and minister to the congregation in Darien, Conn. for 64 years; Rev. Samuel Lockwood, Yale graduate of 1745 and a Fellow of the College and Doctor of Divinity. He left a small fortune to enlarge the Yale library; Rev. Enoch Huntington, Yale graduate of 1759 and a Fellow of the College and Secretary of the Corporation. His brother was Governor and Declaration of Independence signer Samuel Huntington; Rev. Timothy Pitkin, Yale graduate of 1747 and a Fellow of the College. His father was Governor William Pitkin and his wife a daughter of Yale’s first president, Thomas Clap; Rev. Eliphalet Williams, Yale graduate of 1743, author, Fellow of the College, and senior trustee for 24 years; Rev. Warham Williams, Yale graduate of 1745 and a member of the Corporation of Yale College and Board Secretary; Rev. John Trumbull, Yale graduate of 1735 and a member of the Corporation of Yale College. He was the cousin of Governor John Trumbull; Rev. Stephen Johnson, a Fellow of the College and chaplain in the Continental Army; and Rev. Nathaniel Taylor, Yale graduate of 1745 and a member of the Corporation of Yale College.
