Robert Swing. From Saigon. Identified items of Lt. Col. Robert L. Swing of the U.S. Army in Vietnam, consisting of his cap, with the tag of a Saigon tailor and a paratrooper’s insignia embroidered on the front, his desk sign, a triangular wooden sign with a steel engraved name plate also containing insignia and his Lt. Colonel’s Oak Leaf, and a certificate with a color insignia dated July 31, 1968 and signed in facsimile by Gen. Westmoreland, extending thanks for his service, and stating “I share your pride in the contributions you have made to the Army and its ability to accomplish its mission.” Included is a paperback book Vietnam Odyssey, the story of the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, 1967, with many pictures including some of soldiers wearing hats exactly like the one in this grouping.
