Mother of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the matriarch who ruled the family like a monarch. Franklin was devoted to her, but Eleanor resented her influence and interference.

Autograph Letter Signed on her personal letterhead, one page 8vo, New York City, February 17, 1937, to Stanley Leonberg. “I have no photographs of myself at present, so I write you a note & thank you for your admiration of my son. I am sure you are a good scout.” A scarce example mentioning her son, obtained directly from Mr. Leonberg.
