An entry ticket completely in Holmes's hand and signed by him as chairman of the admissions committee, 296 Beacon St., June 16th 1879, permitting a hopeful candidate for admission to the medical school to take the entrance examination. “Examination for admission to the Medical School, Monday, June 23rd 10 A.M.” This is our first memento of Holmes's other career – medicine.
