SOLD A Poster From the 1980 Presidential Campaign, Signed by Ronald Reagan At the Time

The only campaign poster unquestionably authentically signed by a president that we have ever seen.

In the epochal 1980 presidential campaign, the Reagan camp produced a magnificent 21 by 26 inch color poster reading “America, Reagan Country.”

It showed Reagan wearing his trademark cowboy hat, blue jeans and denim shirt, and was festooned with scenes of America surrounding it. These include illustrations of the Statue of Liberty, farms, a lighthouse, Capitol Hill, Mount Rushmore, a church, and the New York City skyline. During the campaign, a shopkeeper met Reagan’s son Michael and expressed interest in his father’s prospects. Michael asked him if he would like a campaign souvenir and received an emphatic “yes” as an answer.

The next day he returned with this full-size poster, inscribed and signed “To Al and Family, with very best wishes & regards. Ronald Reagan.”

This is not merely an extraordinary memento from one of the most important presidential campaigns in American history, but is the only campaign poster unquestionably authentically signed by a president that we have ever seen. We obtained it directly from the recipient and it is being offered for sale here for the first time.
