Pope Gregory I

Manuscripts from the Middle Ages documenting the writing of Pope Gregory. St. Gregory the Great was born in Rome ca. 540, became pope in 590, and died in 604. He is remembered as the founder of the medieval papacy and the guiding force in converting the Anglo-Saxon peoples in Britain to Christianity.
