Sold – James Madison and James Monroe Provide a Four-Language Ship’s Passport

Document Signed by Madison as President and Monroe as Secretary of State, signed by them at Washington but issued at New York, December 24, 1811, being a four-language ship’s passport issued to Captain Henry Davis to take the ship Flora to London, England. The ship was carrying a diverse cargo of rice, naval stores, cotton and lumber.
