An 8 by 10 inch black and white photograph showing Ike standing at the Arc de Triomphe together with French Gen. Pierre Koenig, Military Governor of Paris, Aug. 27, 1944, only two days after its liberation, signed by both. Eisenhower’s signature is faded but completely legible, while the long inscription and signature of Koenig have faded almost away, though the date is mostly visible. An exceptional wartime signed photograph from the collection of World War II U. S. Army officer Lewis Weinstein, a friend of DeGaulle, who also appears in it.
