Winston Churchill's first political post was a Member of Parliament, to which he was elected in 1900. In 1908, two of the great events of his life occurred: he was married, and as he later said, "lived happily ever after"; and he was named to the Cabinet for the first time as Minister of the Board of Trade. This launched his famed career, in time railing against the appeasers, and vaulting to Prime Minister to lead Britain against Hitler and the Axis Powers.
