Sold – Signed by the Last Monarch of Hawaii

Signed by the Last Monarch of Hawaii.

Queen Liliuokalani. She was the last of the native Hawaiian monarchy. The Tennyson Birthday Book, circa 1910, with quotations from Tennyson’s works for every day of the year and space for the owner to write notes or obtain autographs. There are also some color prints. On the flyleaf appear the inscription and signature “To Miss Josephine Braendle with kindest regards, December 25, 1902, Liliuokalani of Hawaii.” The Queen has also signed on her birthday, September 2, and added her birth year of 1838. There is some age-toning, especially on the flyleaf.
