A Document Signed, the text of which is in the hand of Varick. “Rec’d Albany August 22, 1776 of Capt. Richard Varick the Vouchers for Nineteen hundred & seventy three pounds eleven shillings & five pence New York Currency in specie paid by him on account of Monies borrowed during the last Winter for the public service in Canada & the sum of One Thousand & twenty six pounds Eight Shillings & seven pence New York Currency being the full Balance of Specie rec’d by him from the Paymaster Gen’l in Virtue of my Warrant of the first of July last.”
Varick’s docket records this as Schuyler’s receipt for the vouchers.
