Last month, The Raab Collection unveiled two rare literary treasures: handwritten and signed sections of Washington Irving’s defining biography of George Washington.
This exciting news was featured by the author’s ‘hometown’ newspaper, The River Journal:
Irving, who spent his final years at his home, Sunnyside, in New York’s Hudson Valley, is considered the Founding Father of American Literature. His biography of George Washington, which he wrote at Sunnyside, has been deemed “one of the most important biographies of the nineteenth century, and it still serves as one of most famous depictions of Washington’s life.”
