To illustrate its article on the Boston Tea Party’s 250th anniversary and related events this past weekend, the Associated Press published an image of one of our rare John Hancock letters. In the newly discovered and unpublished letter from 1776, Hancock refers to the safety of one of the Sons of Liberty and shares a message about the “good” of the Patriots’ cause.
The AP news article also appeared in the Toronto Star, the Independent (UK), Boston.com, and elsewhere.
