Nathan Raab was invited to be a guest on Illinois Public Media’s “The 21st Show” to talk about an Abraham Lincoln document, signed just four days before his death, that is currently for sale with The Raab Collection. Raab, along with fellow guest Daniel Worthington, Director of the Papers of Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, discussed the events surrounding the close of the Civil War and the final days before Lincoln’s assassination. They analyzed the historical context of the document and explored issues of forgery and private ownership. Raab also addressed host Brian Mackey’s questions about the process of buying, selling, and authenticating historical documents and autographs. It’s a fascinating and informative discussion.
