A Document Signed, the text of which is in the hand of Varick. “Rec'd Albany August 22, 1776 of Capt. Richard Varick the Vouchers for Nineteen hundred & seventy three pounds eleven shillings & five pence New York Currency in specie paid by him on account of Monies borrowed during the last Winter for the public service in Canada & the sum of One Thousand & twenty six pounds Eight Shillings & seven pence New York Currency being the full Balance of Specie rec'd by him from the Paymaster Gen'l in Virtue of my Warrant of the first of July last.”
