Union general, founder of Howard University

Omar Bradley

United States general (1893-1981) who played an important role in the Allied victory in World War II.

Philip Schuyler

American general in the Revolutionary War.

Raoul Wallenberg

Swedish humanitarian who worked in Budapest, Hungary, during World War II to rescue Jews from the Holocaust. Between July and December 1944, he issued protective passports and saved over 100,000 Jews. An honorary American citizen.

Richard Varick

Revolutionary War officer and aide to Washington, he was later mayor of New York City.

Famous American forger, specializing in George Washington autographs.

Sam Houston

General and President of the Republic of Texas. Houston's signature is large and distinct, and a staple of any Texicana collection.

Colleague and opponent of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln-Douglas debates, Democratic Party nominee for President in 1860.

Susan B. Anthony

Leader of the women's suffrage movement for more than half a century, her letters are rich with suffragette content. Signed quotes are available.

Ulysses S. Grant
